What the Financial Disclosure Revealed

A filing released Tuesday by the U.S. Office of Government Ethics shows Trump's business entities pulled in more than 635 million dollars in royalty income tied to his memecoin. World Liberty Financial, the crypto venture he cofounded with his three sons, longtime associate Steve Witkoff, and Witkoff's two sons, added close to 600 million dollars more. A separate entity, DT Marks SC, brought in nearly 197 million dollars through its 38.5% ownership stake in Stablecoin Holdco, a Miami based stablecoin operation.

Direct Exposure to Bitcoin and Ethereum

Beyond the memecoin, the World Liberty Financial entity reported over 33 million dollars in annual income from bitcoin holdings and more than 150 million dollars from ethereum during 2025, with an additional 1.8 million dollars coming from staked ethereum. The disclosure did not spell out exactly how these positions produced their returns.

Quick Facts

  • DT Marks Defi earned over 5 million dollars combined from tokens including LINK, AAVE, ENA, MOVE, and ONDO
  • The same entity collected more than 56 million dollars tied to the stablecoin USDC
  • A Wall Street Journal investigation in January found the Trump family sold a 49% stake in World Liberty Financial to a firm backed by UAE national security adviser Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan
  • That sale generated nearly 263 million dollars in net proceeds for DT Marks Defi and DT Marks SC

Stock Trades Tied to Crypto Markets

The disclosure also documents trading activity in Strategy, the company formerly known as MicroStrategy, whose ticker MSTR functions largely as a leveraged bitcoin proxy. Trades ranged between 15,000 and 50,000 dollars across several investment accounts, giving Trump indirect bitcoin exposure alongside his direct holdings. He also bought and sold shares of Coinbase and Robinhood in separate accounts, according to the filing.

Questions Over Conflicts of Interest

White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly said neither the president nor his family has ever engaged in conflicts of interest and never will. Eric Trump has previously said his father's investments sit in fully discretionary accounts run by independent third party managers, denying that the president or his family directs specific trades. World Liberty Financial did not respond to requests for comment on the disclosure.

Volatility Remains the Backdrop

Bitcoin's modest 0.89% gain to 63092.94 sits against a market known for sharp reversals, and the scale of Trump's crypto income, spanning memecoins, altcoins, stablecoins, and equity trades, adds a political dimension to price swings that are already difficult to predict. Whether scrutiny over these holdings intensifies as regulators weigh crypto rules remains an open question for investors watching both the coin and the politics around it.
